
Pilot: Fall 2021 Climate Stewards Training
The Climate Steward Program team completed the first pilot training of fifty-one new volunteers from six counties across New York State in the fall of 2021, with our Cornell Cooperative Extension Partners:
- Dutchess County CCE: 11 new Climate Stewards trained
- Monroe County CCE: 10 new Climate Stewards trained
- New York City CUCE: 7 new Climate Stewards trained
- Seneca County CCE: 8 new Climate Stewards trained
- Tompkins County CCE: 8 new Climate Stewards trained
- Ulster County CCE: 7 new Climate Stewards trained
The newly trained stewards completed the twelve-week curriculum, meeting once a week from September to December 2021. They are now working individually or in teams to implement their own Climate Stewards Volunteer projects. This pilot program was funded by the USDA Smith-Lever Program and NYSERDA.

Fall 2022 Cornell Climate Stewards CCE Educator Training
The Climate Stewards Program team trained new Cornell Cooperative Extension educators from the following counties across New York State:
- Allegheny County CCE
- Chautauqua County CCE
- Clinton County CCE
- Erie County CCE
- Madison County CCE
- Monroe County CCE
- Niagara County CCE
- Orange County CCE
- Schenectady County CCE
- Schoharie and Otsego County CCE
- Schuyler County CCE
- Seneca County CCE
These educators were trained in preparation for the Spring 2023 Climate Stewards Volunteer Program. CCE educators will work together to provide the climate stewards curriculum and recruit volunteers interested in completing the program.
Spring 2023 Cornell Climate Stewards Volunteer Training
From March through June 2023, our team trained volunteers from the following counties:

- Madison County CCE: 2 Volunteers
- Monroe County CCE: 4 Volunteers
